Womens herbs for Health and Happiness workshop

The aim of this workshop is to empower women of all ages to feel fab about being female while discovering the wonderful herbal allies which can nourish and support us everyday. No prior knowledge is needed; just an open mind and a desire to learn more about herbal medicine and the wonder of Nature. All the workshops I offer are designed to complement each other or to be done independently. As well as finding out about herbal infusions and macerated oils, this workshop is the perfect treat for every woman to nourish and appreciate herself or to share with a girlfriend, mother or daughter. It is suitable for teenagers upwards but all under 17s must be accompanied with an attending adult.

Morning session

We begin the morning with an introduction to the herbs we’ll be working with through the day woven with a short history of herbalism and women healers though the ages.

The herbs we cover in this workshop, some of which we’ll then explore in more depth and particularly their role in supporting a woman’s health and spirit, are Rose, Chamomile, Lavender, Calendula, Nettle, Mugwort, Vervain, Lemon balm, Ladys mantle, Limeflower, Dandelion and Sage. We’ll consider how they can be used as infusions, tinctures and topically. You can expect other herbs and healing foods to find their way into the morning as well as tea-tastings and a guided meditation. We round off the morning making up some herbal tea blends for you to take home with you.

Afternoon session

This begins with a herb walk during which you’ll find out about identification and safe harvesting and preservation know-how as well as exploring the medicinal properties, folklore and stories behind the plants and trees.

Back in the classroom with a herbal tea, I’ll demonstrate how to make your own home tinctures and how to make a beautiful macerated herbal oil that can be used on its own and how we can add essential oils and other ingredients to turn it into a beauty salve or lip balm.

We then hopefully have a short time left to consolidate all that we’ve learned and answer any questions so that you leave feeling fabulous about yourself and excited about connecting more with Mother Nature to support and enrich your life both with herbs and in spirit.

Tea, coffee and herbal teas are provided but please bring your own packed lunch and any other snacks you will need thoughout the day to keep you focused.
